Avocado and Egg Mask: Summer Hair Care

What better way to start the month than with a luxurious, conditioning hair mask?

As I had mentioned before on one of my posts about summer hair care, it is something that all Mozambicans have to deal with. We probably have only two months of winter here, the rest is scorching sun or heavy rains.

Hair tends to get really dry and flaky during the summer, doesn’t matter what hair type you have. Be it straight, wavy, curly or afro. So what can we do to avoid that? The answer is quite simple, just take care of it.

It is hot and sunny in summer, so most likely we will be going to the  beach, pool and still sweat at the gym to get that summer ready body. From all these activities, our hair should get dry and damaged if not taken care of.

Let’s look at this really easy to do mask that will not take you more than 15 minutes to prepare.

  • 1/2 an avocado
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 spoon of your favorite hydrating mask

How to make it:

To make the mask you need to puree the avocado and then put in the eggs and olive oil and mix them carefully.

How to apply it:

Shampoo your hair and always rinse off with cold water. Apply the mask and leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse off with cold water, we do not want to fry the egg with hot water. Apply the conditioner and again rinse off with cold water.

Why avocado and eggs?

The avocado is rich in vitamin B and healthy fats, which will make your hair shine. And the eggs will turn your dry hair into silky strands by conditioning it from root to ends.

Have  you tried any masks with avocado or eggs? All the ones I’ve tried have rewarded me with positive results.

Try this one out and let me know how it goes?
