Pre-poo? Why Should I?

Yes, yes, I know another “poo” in this business.

This is an option for the ones who just cannot wash their hair without a shampoo. I have met a few people who appreciate shampoos and believe that if shampoo is not applied to their hair, it is not completely clean. That is perfectly fine guys! In fact, there is a great method to avoid the damage that a shampoo can cause to your hair.

Why bother pre-pooing?

Pre-poo is the process of applying oil to your hair before you shampoo or condition it.

It helps with moisturising, detangling after washing, gives you softer and shiny curls. It protects your hair from the harsh products found in shampoos that could leave it extremely dry.

It also fights off frizz, prevents dandruff, decreases hair loss and breakage. This all depends on the oils or masks you apply as the pre-poo.

How do I pre-poo?

It can be a lengthy process if you are a perfectionist like me and wants to get every bit of the hair filled with oil. If you are someone who does not want to waste too much of their valuable time with such perfections, all you have to do is part your hair in four sections and detangle each section. Then apply oil to each section on the hair and scalp.

After I apply, I usually make big fat loose twists or sometimes smaller ones. You can also braid the sections instead of making twists.

You can let it sit for an hour or maybe even overnight, but since you just want to wash it, you can even leave it on for just 30 minutes. And after your time is up you can wash it as you normally would with your shampoo and conditioner.
