The agreement marks a critical step in Cable & Wireless Seychelles鈥� ability to provide the highest-quality service in a tourism-driven roaming market.

Mobile voice and data usage from international visitors are key sources of revenues for operators on the Seychelles islands. The annual number of inbound tourists continues to soar and, according to the , the Seychelles saw a more than 18 percent rise in the number of tourists in the last year. In 2015 alone, the number of tourists reached , far exceeding the nation鈥檚 95,000-plus citizens.
Global LTE brings a host of challenges when it comes to interoperability among mobile operators. It involves a complex undertaking that requires testing to ensure the quality of processes, clearing and settlement, and customer-experience protection between one LTE network and another. A crucial part of this involves the deployment of an IPX network, the network backbone that makes LTE roaming possible, and Diameter, the industry-standard signaling protocol for messages from mobile devices, and the management of proper routing and delivery of Diameter signaling messages.
